The Story

Meet the young Dutch designer who conquers Australia and now the rest of the world with fashionable Sunglass Chains. Her mantra? It always seems impossible until its done.

Flo Kemp (33), entrepreneur from Amsterdam while living in Sydney, is the creative brain behind the brand SUNNY CORDS and was determined to bring the eyewear chain back into fashion. And yes, she DID.

SUNNY CORDS is bold, relaxed and resolute by nature. It takes a fashionable approach to stop losing and damaging your sunglasses, combining the need to be on trend with accessory jewellery pieces.

Pieces can be layered and mixed to create a high fashion feel with my signature “no fuss” approach and philosophy of “getting the basics right in any wardrobe should be the starting point”.

Media Coverage

Over the years Sunny Cords has been featured in a number of different online and print publications. Just some of these publications include:

Flo was interviewed by the Quote which was definitely one of our business highlights! 18,000 views, who would have imagined this story going viral? We of course did! Click here

Sunny Cords was featured in one of our favourite Dutch magazines: the JAN. We are thrilled! They say: What do you mean old-fashioned granny cords? You mean the vintage trend from the 1980s. The Dutch-Australian brand makes reading and / or sunglasses chains. Click here

Sunny Cords founder Florine Kemp refused to put her eyewear on ‘grannystyle’ or sporty chains. So, in an effort to turn a functional product into a fashionable accessory, she created Sunny Cords. You know we love a good backstory, and this one is a ripper – read on. Click here

SUNNY CORDS is now partnering with the Bijenkorf – one of the largest Department Stores in the Netherlands! Last two summers we organised a special rooftop event. So many customers left with upgraded sunnies. :) Check out below video for a recap. Click here
